Mexico City New International Airport
Mexico City will have a new international airport, president Enrique Peña Nieto announced yesterday during his second annual address to the nation. The project was officially presented today. The new airport will have four times the capacity of the current terminals and will count with six runways by its final completion, three on a first stage and another three on a second stage. The contest winners are the awarded architects Norman Foster and Mexican Fernando Romero. The team is comprised by three firms Foster + Partners, FR-EE [Fernando Romero Enterprise], and NACCO [Netherlands Airport Consultants].
